Weight Loss Method

Introduction

I have been on a bit of a health kick for the last couple months. It took a while to figure out a regime that worked. For the first month of it I had basically know results. However, in the second month I made some changes to my workout regimen, and I had finally gotten the results I was looking for. It took one big change for a whole month to make it happen, but once I stuck to it I was shocked at the difference it made. The change I made was no more alcohol.

Why Alcohol Is Bad For A Health Kick

On the weekends i used to party 2-3 days almost every weekend. In doing this I was consuming a lot of alcohol. This behavior on the weekends, while I didn't realize it at first, was really hindering my ability to lose weight and get into shape. The biggest thing that alcohol does that hindered my ability to lose weight was it made me forget that I was dieting. Your self control with food while under the influence of alcohol is slim to none. So I would drink 2-3 times on the weekends and then also go out to fast food restaurants like Mcdonalds and have no regard as to how many calories I was consuming. On average I would say that I was eating around 600-800 calories everytime I ate fast food while under the influence of alcohol. Multiply that by 3 and you get 1,800-2,400 calories total. That many calories alone right that was enough to totally negate all of the hard work toward exercising that I was doing during the week. However, that is not the only negative effect that alcohol has on your diet. Alcohol itself has a ton of empty calories in them. So when you are consuming alcohol those calories are not being used to benefit you in any way except to be stored as fat. Depending on what type of alcohol you are drinking or how much you are drinking, you could be consuming a lot more empty calories then you may know. For example, in one shot of vodka, which is a mere 1.5 oz, you are consuming anywhere from 80-100 calories. So on the nights when I was really having fun I could be consuming up to 1000 calories from the alcohol alone. Now add that up to the fast food calories I was consuming and you get upwards of 3,400 calories and maybe even more. It's no wonder I was having trouble with my weight in the first place.

What to do.

It is very simple. For at least a month alcohol needs to be totally cut from life, or at least the consumption of it needs to be done very sparingly. If you do this and you stick to a consistent diet and/or workout plan I can guarentee that you will see results.

Conclusion.

I realize that this is not for everyone because not everyone drinks alcohol. So if you are someone that does not drink alcohol I am sorry as this is probably no help to you, but hopefully it was at least informative. For those that do drink, if you can cut down your alcohol consumption you will find that you are shedding weight much much faster. I did not lose a pound over a month even though I was working out consistently. In fact I even gained a couple more pounds that I had. I was not overweight by any means, but I was not happy with how I looked, so it really bothered me that I worked out for a month and saw no results. In the second month of my diet and exercising I decided to not drink and it made all of the difference. I lost 11 pounds in 4 weeks and I am extremely proud with what I had accomplished. I now only drink for special occasions because I know how non-beneficial drinking for fun can be.
